Maputo, Mozambique Deep House Tech House House Hip-Hop / R&B

Born and raised in Maputo, Mozambique in 1991, Tushimitsu had his first contact with music in an early age. Growing up in a very artistic house, and mainly by influence of his older brother (songwriter, producer and guitar player), Tushimitsu was engaged in an environment of rehearsals and jamming sessions, back in the tape era, surrounded by Reggae, Funk, Jazz, Fusion and Gospel Music.

By the year of 2000, Mitsu got submersed in Hip Hop, where he only started making beats in late 2006. Couple of years later, he started getting awareness of some local Hip Hop artist and acts, producing beats and mixtapes for them. Known for his early hard, underground boom bap beats, Tushimitsu was considered ‘rookie of the year’ in the second edition of Maputo’s ‘ExpoBeats’, organized by a local Hip Hop radio show. In the months and years that follow, he appeared in two more editions of ‘ExpoBeats’, and later in the infamous beat battle series called ‘Mortal Kombat’. His beats were featured in several albums, beat tapes as well as remix tapes.

Tushimitsu still considers himself as a Hip Hop producer; despite that he started producing House beats in 2012. Electronic Dance Music, was always there, but only in 2009 he started djing for real in VDJ as most kids of his time. Tushimitsu mixed Electro, Dutch House, Liquid Funk and Dubstep until he fell in love with the Deep, Minimalistic, Funky, Soulful and Techy side of House Music. Influenced by Paolo Rocco, Hector Couto, Flashmob, Joris Voorn, Maya Jane Coles, Noir, Hot Since 82, Pete Dafeet, Atjazz, Dennis Ferrer, Lula Circus, David Keno, Chris Lattner, Stefano Esposito, Nic Fanciulli, Daft Punk, Benga, Borgore, Skrillex, Skream, Avrosse, Louie Cut, and many, many others, Tushimitsu has been shifting his production style to what it is now.
