FEED YOUR SENSES.
Jakob Dimes, aka TEN.SENSE, is a twenty three year old electronic music producer and DJ working with Ableton Live in both his studio and live performances. Rapidly becoming a household name in the Atlanta EDM scene, TEN.SENSE is gaining attention with his high energy performances featuring edgy, creative, and artistically intuitive remixes of popular house, dubstep, and hip-hop tracks. Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Jakob (TEN.SENSE) grew up in the midst of the southern hip hop explosion. The induction of companies like So So Def, Grand Hustle, So Icey Ent (later 1017 Brick Squad), and DARP Studios, exposed Jakob Dimes to a developing genre based in samples, loops and hooks; as hip-hop developed so did Jakob's musical ear, resulting in a deep love and understanding of the genre and its importance to modern music. Several years of guitar lessons allowed Jakob to begin experimenting, casually playing along with his favorite rap songs, remixing them without even realizing it at the time. Once Jakob graduated high school he immediately moved to Baltimore, Maryland to attend college. It was there, where he was exposed to the vast electronic music scene with events like Star Scape and venus like Sonar, The Copycat, H&H, and Wham City. Intrigued by the creative freedom and infinite artistic possibilities offered by software like Serato and Ableton, Jakob bought his first midi controller and TEN.SENSE was born. During the course of his four years in Baltimore, Jakob and his friends traveled the North Eastern railways often, attending shows in Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York City. Each time Jakob brought his laptop and worked, spending countless hours composing and experimenting, learning the ins and outs of Ableton. This extensive interaction with DJing and Electronic Music Production from the perspective of both a fan and a performer now allows TEN.SENSE a grand presence in the booth, without ever leaving the audience.
TEN.SENSE uses Ableton Suite 8 in conjunction with an Allen & Heath Xone:4D mixer and an APC 40 for his live performances. Occasionally TEN.SENSE will operate Serato and Ableton by utilizing The Bridge and adding a Pioneer CDJ900 to his set up.
