RAMIRO - ARTIST PROFILE
In the early 90s, during his college years in San Francisco, Ramiro converged on the electronic music phenomenon that was exploding in the Bay Area. From the Wicked Full-Moons, to Freedom & The Gathering, Come-Unity, Zendada, Stompy Stomp, Kundalini, and the legendary Sunset outdoor parties, Ramiro drew inspiration. In 1995, with the help of friends, Ramiro began producing his own events, promoting community among an emerging group of artists & musicians, while showcasing their work. By 1997, Uniting Souls was born.
As founder, Ramiro worked actively to build community through the power of house music, producing over 100 shows in SF through the late '90s, and several more in Los Angeles, quickly gaining a reputation for world-class events with incredibly good vibes.
In 2000, Ramiro served as talent coordinator and Director of ACA University during the first ACA World Sound Festival in Acapulco, Mexico, a 3-night music festival featuring 5 stages, over 80,000 attendees, and some of the world's top electronic music artists - including Moby performing live with a 10-piece band, Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, King Britt, Jazzanova, Satoshi Tomiie, Mark Farina, LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, Ming & FS, Infected Mushroom, South African jazz legend Hugh Masakela, Latin jazz Grammy-winners Poncho Sanchez Band, and dozens of others.
Since making Seattle his new home in 2000, Ramiro has been "an inextinguishable accelerant of Seattle's house scene" (Seattle Weekly 10/29/03), producing over 400 events in the Northwest, featuring top-tier local, national, and international talent - including Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Doc Martin, Little Louie Vega, Marques Wyatt, Johnny Fiasco, Miguel Migs, while presenting the Seattle debut of Kaskade, Claude vonStroke, Lisa Shaw, Inland Knights, Chuck Love, and dozens of others.
For the past 10 years, Ramiro & Uniting Souls have had the honor of hosting all of Om Records' major tour stops & release parties in Seattle, as well as co-producing the Magnetic/Kinetic series @ the Pacific Science Center, and the annual Future Funk showcases & boat parties @ the internationally-acclaimed Decibel Festival.
Ramiro also spearheads the record label, Uniting Souls Music, with several chart-topping releases, and licensed tracks to Om (for DJ Heather & Onionz' Summer Sessions double-disc), Canada's NordicTrax, and Belgium's Beaubar label. Ramiro has also produced label showcases in New York & at WMC in Miami.
Through his dj sets, Ramiro aims to uplift the dancer to a higher Spiritual realm, with a passion for forward-thinking tracks with dirty, techy, funky bass lines, and soulful, contagious good vibes! When he's not throwin' down behind the decks, you're likely to find him on the dance floor.
Ramiro gets lots of love from the community, playing a remarkable 100 shows/year on average. His current residencies include Diggin' Deep, 2nd Saturdays @ Electric Tea Garden, Strobe, and quarterly events at Capitol Hill hotspot Neumos! Welcome to Ramiro's house!
