Hard Dance Hardcore / Hard Techno

On January 19, 2011 DJHerz Radio was launched as an online radio station. For over a year this station specialized in broadcasting 24/7 the best trance from around the world. DJHerz Radio was also an avenue for DJ Herz, the station’s owner, to broadcast his own trance mixes. Along with Trancesend Sessions, DJHerz’s own show, he also broadcasted shows by DJ Elepzia and DJ Quash. The last show to be broadcasted on the station was Climax with Chris Ward.

In January 2012 DJHerz chose to shut down the station due to dwindling interest in the internet radio business. This decision enabled him to focus solely on his career as a DJ and producer. This rebirth called for a re-branding. DJHerz was a name already used in the DJ world and David Markov, the identity behind the radio station, wanted something unique with personal value. After mulling over many possibilities Markove was chosen.

Markove focuses on producing and mixing hardstyle using his own personal tastes of the genre. With an uplifting melody or a punchy bassline Markove is sure to make you dance wherever you are. David discovered hardstyle in high school with the track "Attack Again" by Noisecontrollers, which still influences him to this day. This song opened up an entire world for David to explore; one full of the melodies trance taught him to love and a harder, more defined bass that he had been yearning for. Hardstyle became a day and night passion that consumed his entire being.

Being a native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, however, was limiting for his exposure early on. After years of learning the genre David decided to begin focusing on producing hardstyle. He wanted to not only make hardstyle, but also help promote the genre in the United States. Hardstyle is a genre that never reached full attention in the United States. Markove wants to change that for the better.

Markove is a play on the wording of David’s last name. Many people pronounce the name wrong, which led to Markove – the proper pronunciation of his last name.
