Khromata (formerly Psyamesekat, aka Eileen Lewis) spent her formative years growing up in the jewel of Southeast Asia. Through what can only be described as a random but powerful life-changing cosmic suggestion from the galactic overlords of electronic music, she discovered goa trance as a teenager in 1997 and has been hooked on the psychedelic sounds of electronica ever since. Soon after, she began to attend psytrance gatherings on the tropical islands in the south of Thailand. She then moved to the U.S in 2002 and quickly discovered the psychedelic trance gatherings happening in California and has been attending them for the past decade. Beyond passionate for the music and the culture, another random, powerful life-changing cosmic suggestion from the galactic overlords of DJing took place and she awoke with a start one day in 2010 and realized that what she was doing wasn’t enough, and the natural progression in her musical evolution had yet to be actualized—it was indeed time she should start speading the love herself. After some hard work and dedication, she soon began playing her funky, chunky full-on psychedelic trance and DiscoPolkaHoTechStep sets at various events across Northern California. Due to her equally deep passion for nuskool breaks, she progressed to the glorious melding of both psytrance and breakbeats. Khromata has been spreading the sound of psybreaks ever since, playing out psychedelic broken tech funk beats at events such as the How Weird Street Faire, Psymbolic, the Monterey Beach Burn, Gemini Dreams, LaborDance, Pulse Family Gathering, ReFreshed radio, and numerous other outdoors and undergrounds across the state.
