Heaven Malone

Chicago, IL, USA Dance Indie Dance / Nu Disco Electro House

“Rock music has always had a contentious relationship with club land, but these days, those barriers are all but non-existent. In Chicago, Heaven Malone has been a great contributor to breaking down the divide.”
- Time Out Chicago

Moving to Chicago from New Orleans, Heaven Malone quickly became immersed in Chicago’s goth industrial scene, producing events with classic acts such as Ministry and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult.

As the electro scene started taking over the underground, Malone joined Kill Hannah’s Mat Devine in organizing the fashion & social collective known as “Chicago Suicide Club”. CSC’s notorious events soon became a reason people were moving to Chicago. CSC’s first event featured Peaches, followed over the years by Shiny Toy Guns, 30 Seconds to Mars with Jared Leto, Marilyn Manson’s absinthe fueled Mardi Gras party and culminating on New Year’s Eve with French electro pioneers Justice.

“Always one to take the DJ path less traveled.”
- Time Out Chicago

Heaven Malone founded the influential weekly indie-electro party “Disappear Here” at Angels & Kings. This notoriously decadent Bret Easton Ellis inspired party featured up and coming DJs & producers such as Le Castle Vania, Lucky Date and Gemini Club, along with the occasional celebrity up for sacrifice. Following “Disappear Here”, Malone maintained a monthly indie-dance residency at Beauty Bar Chicago with Midnight Conspiracy called “Die Tonight”. Every month was a bloody Halloween costume party at “Die Tonight” which featured such acts as The xx, The Hood Internet and Ladytron. Malone managed and DJed the exclusive VIP lounge hidden deep inside The House of Blues for “Girls & Boys Chicago”, the first spinoff of the famous party at Webster Hall in New York City.

“Die Tonight parties are the current pinnacle of the hipster electro scene.”
- Time Out Chicago

Malone was then DJing around the country in New York City at Girls & Boys and the notorious TRASH! party at Webster Hall in New York City, at A-list celebrity poolside hangout, Nightswim at The Hollywood Roosevelt in Los Angeles, the high energy electro parties Lose Control at SXSW in Austin, TX, Mardi Gras & Halloween in New Orleans, the indie dance party Tigerbeats and legendary electro party Hands and Knees at The Barbary in Philadelphia, the decade long running indie party Lipgloss in Denver, as well back in Chicago with a DJ residency with Reuben Wu of Ladytron at Beauty Bar and several Lollapalooza After Parties hosted by Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman of Breaking Bad) and the “It’s So Miami” Lollapalooza Artist VIP Lounge at The Hard Rock Hotel for Lollapalooza.

As “David Bowie Is...”, the multi-media museum fashion exhibition of acclaimed rocker David Bowie came to Chicago, Malone DJed and produced multiple Bowie Ball events sponsored by The Museum of Contemporary Art. Even David Bowie & his wife Iman posted about Bowie Ball across their social media accounts.

“I may just come crash your DJ booth.”
- Courtney Love

That summer, Heaven Malone DJed his first European gigs at the official opening and closing galas of the celebrity studded Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in Cannes, France where he met famed singer Courtney Love.

And with the closing of the David Bowie Is exhibition, Malone produced & DJed the last Bowie Ball of the season and David Bowie's Birthday Bash featuring actor Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire/Man of Steel) performing the songs of Lou Reed with Sons of the Silent Age (members of Morrissey and Ministry) performing the songs of David Bowie.

Across the globe, Heaven had his first DJ set in India, returning to Cannes, France to DJ multiple dates along the French Riviera. Back in Chicago, Heaven Malone opened for a special DJ set by LCD Soundsystem during Lollapalooza weekend.

As pop culture turned into great parties, Heaven Malone re-launched his epic Twin Peaks Night - a drag & burlesque themed dance party which serendipitously coincided with David Lynch's announcement of the return of Twin Peaks on Showtime. Most recently, Heaven DJed the opening weekend of the Stranger Things Popup – The Upside Down.
