Boizei is a DJ / Producer based in the West Midlands, UK. Born in the tumultuous early-eighties and raised on a hearty diet of Acid Rave compilations and Bowie he was never going to be your average DJ.
Musical ventures took shape in alternative rock and indie bands throughout the early 2000’s. Distorted, raucous guitars were his weapons of choice but in 2003 he had his mind blown by ‘As Heard on
Radio Soulwax’. Realising the power that lay in the hands of indie kids with turntables, his guitar was swiftly traded for decks, a mixer, and a thirst for sharing his extensive record collection with a like-minded audience.
In 2008 he founded Coventry’s only electro / indie club night - Kick Snare Disco. It was here that he honed his DJ skills, playing to an eclectic crowd who, like himself, were bored with the local club scene and had impeccable taste in music. The years that followed saw him turn his mainly indie club-goers onto such electronic delights as Justice, SebastiAn, Tiga, Surkin, Digitalism and Boys Noize to name but a few.
Since Kick Snare, Boizei has delved even deeper into the world of electronic music; his live sets are more dance-heavy than ever, but still retain that alternative edge. One listen to his explosive Mix Snare mixes and you’ll know what to expect from his live shows.
