Brighton based Label Head, Resident DJ for Warehouse (Audio - Brighton), Producer and 1/4 of Let The Machines Do The Work, Alex Over, just 24 years of age has accomplished much.

With the early influences of DJ’s such as James Zabiela, Simian Mobile Disco, Richie Hawtin through to the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Alex has begun, creating and producing his own sound and style of music. Back in 2012 he set up his own label, Over Recordings. His debut EP release Freedom has been given great reviews by some of the industry’s most recognised talents, such as Dubfire, Seth Troxler, M.A.N.D.Y, Terry Francis and Ian Pooley, to name but a few. Freedom featured in Germany’s DJ Mag scoring an 8/10. It was also listed alongside Maya Jane Coles - DJ Kicks and widely played on radio stations across Europe, Ibiza and the US. This resulted in Alex being asked to submit a guest mix for Ibiza Sonica Radio preceding John Digweed’s ‘Transitions’ show.

Further down the line with Over Recordings the label having evolved and now features releases and artists from the likes of Jamie Anderson, Rob Small, Ross Richards, Josh Butler, Al Bradley from 3AM Recordings and London based Shade’s of Grey man, Owen Howells. It really has been an exciting start for this energetic and focused label to succeed, bringing fresh ideas to the table.

With his live performance on the decks, Alex can edit tracks make twists thus creating his own sounds and techniques. Alex cannot be associated with not only a single genre - Everyone of his performances is unique. Alex proved his talents as a DJ at a young age of just 20, performing in Brighton’s leading weeknights, (Trash Mondays at Coalition Brighton). In addition, during this exciting progression in Alex’s portfolio, he was selected to be one of only ten DJ’s to perform in the heats for The Shakedown Festival in Brighton 2011. He took part in Steve Lawler’s remix competition and the remix competition held by Timo Mass. Moving on to establish himself on the London club scene he played in venues such as Ministry of Sound, Cargo, The Lightbox, Raduno and Gigalum.

Now back in Brighton, Alex took the next step into his music career by attending the renowned ‘Access to Music’ (Brighton) this is enabling him to develop music composition, production and business skills.
